Please Don't

Every so often I find myself having to defend Washington in terms of fashion. Yes, I say, many people who live/work in Washington are badly dressed federal employees with no sense of taste. And yet! There are many others (I like to include myself) who do have some sense of fashion that extends beyond a boring suit. And then I see the people I saw on my way to work this morning and realize some things don't change. You-with the white skirt with a gray design on it-that black sweater did NOT go with it. It was a perfectly nice skirt, why did you do that to it? And to the girl with the cuffed short pants (plaid, gray and taupe) that ugly green sweater hurt my eyes and did NOT go with those pants. For the finale, we have the girl wearing the nice white skirt with circles on it in taupe and black, with a perfectly nice white sweater. It was a nice summery ensemble, until she ruined it. I realize the scarf she had on matched the skirt, as it had shades taupe in it.But did she really have to drape it over one shoulder like a baby's burping blankie? And it kept covering up her not-so-stylish backpack (please, even I have a nice bag and I don't care about bags AT ALL). I just wanted to run up to her have her let me tie her scarf for her so it would have looked so much better.
Honestly, sometimes it's just depressing when I have to see this sort of thing the whole way to work.
