A coda

A coda to Gone Baby Gone-Patrick makes a hard decision at the end of the movie, but was it the right thing to do? I have found that (as I read in a book once and it's still true) that the hardest thing to do is usually the right thing. It's easy to let things go as they are and not make changes-it's difficult to make changes. The right thing to do can be hard and change is always difficult but you have to live with yourself and the things that you did and didn't do. Wouldn't you rather know that you did the right thing and live with the consequences? However, to paraphrase Harry Truman-it's not hard to do the right thing-but it's hard to know what the right thing is.
